TDS have always been committed to gaining the most extensive information security certification available. Towards the end of 2021, TDS achieved the prestigious ISO 27001 certification which is an internationally recognised specification for an Information Security Management System or ISMS. ISO 27001 is the only auditable standard that deals with the overall management of information security, rather than which technical controls to implement.
What is ISO 27001?
ISO 27001 is an internationally recognised specification for an Information Security Management System or ISMS and is the only auditable standard that deals with the overall management of information security, rather than which technical controls to implement. Through its members, it brings together experts to share knowledge and develop voluntary, consensus-based, market-relevant International Standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges.
Certification to ISO 27001 enables TDS to prove to our clients and other stakeholders that we are comprehensively managing the security of information held in our possession. The scope of the certification covers the entire operations of the company. The ISMS applies the management of information security in the provision of all products and services to its clients at all locations, within software development and support business units of TDS.
“Design, Software Development, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of Electronic Security Systems”, including Internal IT, Client Hosting Operations and Installation. It underlines TDS' longstanding commitment to keeping our customer's data in a secure and confidential manner and, in doing so, we protect sensitive information and the privacy of our customers.
Why is this certification needed?
There are numerous benefits that this certification brings to our customers including added trust and insurance to you and your supply chain, less likelihood of a costly data breach and the certification reduces the cost of supplier onboarding.
At TDS we understand our customers concerns regarding their companies information; they need to know that their supply chain is protected sufficiently. Influential customers are simply mandating IS0 27001 certification and transferring the risk management process down the supply chain. As insurers catch up with better working practices, it should also mean lower premiums for organisations with independently certified ISO 27001 Information Management System.
Customers now require the confidence that their suppliers are certified to help mitigate their business risks and exploit opportunities e.g. from more consistent higher standards and lower total cost and risk of work you encounter from them.
This certification follows an external audit conducted by the NQA. Furthermore, TDS has retained its existing 9001 accreditation for its Quality Management System.
TDS are also excited to announce that we have renewed our ISO 9001 certification, successfully meeting the international standard for quality management, once again.
Benefits of ISO 27001 for TDS:
- Significantly reduced risk of harm, loss of embarrassment to the organisation due to sensitive information loss.
- Peace of mind assurance to our customers, staff, board members, suppliers and other interested parties that their data is secure.
- Ability to bid for and respond to lenders for business where ISO 27001 certification is a requirement.
- A public demonstration that TDS takes information security seriously.
The TDS team have worked tirelessly to achieve this prestigious ISO 27001: 2013 certification, proving our commitment to Information Security.
